The Federal Government (FG) has declared the 2nd and 3rd of May 2022 as public holidays to mark the Workers Day and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. This was disclosed on Thursday by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Shuaib Belgore. The Minister commended workers for their hard work and sacrifice, while also stating that their efforts were instrumental in developing the country.

Aregbesola also felicitated with Muslims on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan while urging all Muslims to imbibe and practice the virtues of tolerance, peace, love, and kindness, as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

According to the statement, “Aregbesola assured Nigerians that the Buhari regime was fully committed to the security of life and property of every citizen and foreigners alike, urging Nigerians to be part of the nation’s security architecture by being vigilant and reporting suspicious individuals and activities to law enforcement agencies.”
