Around 12:18 a.m. local time, President Tinubu's plane landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs; Isaac Parashina, the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria; senior Kenyan government officials; and members of Nigeria's diplomatic mission in Kenya welcomed the President upon his arrival.
Heads of state, legislators, business executives, development partners, and other stakeholders from throughout Africa and beyond are anticipated to attend the summit, which French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto co-host.
President Tinubu's participation highlights Nigeria's commitment to promoting African unity, bolstering regional economic cooperation, and cultivating strategic partnerships to accelerate sustainable development across the continent, according to a statement from Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Economic transformation, trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and common prosperity for African states will be the main topics of discussion at the summit.
In order to strengthen Nigeria's diplomatic and economic ties with African nations and development partners, President Tinubu is anticipated to undertake high-level bilateral and multilateral discussions with other leaders and stakeholders during the summit.
According to the statement, the President's attendance also demonstrates his administration's dedication to achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda through smart international engagements and encouraging Africa-driven solutions to continental concerns.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security; Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Minister of Environment; Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment; and Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, accompany the President on the trip.
The delegation also included Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, Omotenioye Majekodunmi, Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, and Ayodele Oke, Nigeria's ambassador to France.
