Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has responded to criticism surrounding his performance at the 2026 All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention, explaining that his appearance at the event was influenced by family ties.
The artiste had come under fire after performing at the ruling party’s convention, with critics arguing that public figures should be demanding accountability from the government amid worsening economic conditions and persistent insecurity across the country.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Black Box podcast, Ice Prince said his decision to perform was linked to his relationship with the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda.
“Who booked me for that event? My uncle – Nentawe Yilwatda who is the APC Chairman. He is not just a random person to me. He is my real uncle,” he explained.
