Brother to actress Regina Daniels, Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, was granted bail on 10th November 2025, after spending days in police custody. This was revealed in a video clip that went viral on social media on Monday. The footage showed Sammy leaving the courtroom alongside his mother, Rita Daniels, and Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, among others, shortly after the bail was granted.
According to available information, after his arrest in Lagos and movement to Abuja by the police, the court initially remanded him in Keffi Correctional Centre in Nasarawa State before being transferred to Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State.
Sammy’s detention came amid allegations related to the ongoing dispute between Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
He was reportedly arrested over matters involving harassment and intimidation, according to earlier reports.
Celebrating Sammy’s release on his Instagram story, his elder brother, @Sweezzy1, wrote, “Sammy, you are a great man. Bail has been granted! Nigerians, thank you.”
Activist MamaPee also confirmed Sammy’s bail, sharing a video on her page showing her leaving the courtroom.
