President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh (SAN) as the new Minister of Science, Innovation, and Technology, as a replacement for Mr. Uche Nnaji, who resigned on October 7, 2025, over allegations of certificate forgery.

This was contained in a letter addressed to the Senate and read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary.

The letter reads in part, “In compliance with the provisions of Section 147(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), I am pleased to forward to the Senate the nomination of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu-Udeh for confirmation as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“While I hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, distinguished Senate President and distinguished Senators, the assurances of my highest regards.”

The Senate then referred to the Committee of the Whole for immediate consideration.

Udeh is from Enugu State and currently serves as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state.
