Liverpool has reportedly decided to part ways with manager Arne Slot just days after the conclusion of the Premier League season. The decision comes after a disappointing campaign in which the Reds were unable to retain their league title, ultimately finishing fifth and securing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are already moving forward with plans to appoint a successor, with former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola emerging as the leading candidate for the role.
Romano disclosed the development in a post on his X account on Saturday, writing:
“ARNE SLOT AND LIVERPOOL TO PART WAYS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
“It’s over between the Dutch manager and Liverpool after the end of the season review.
“Andoni Iraola, clear favourite to take over as next #LFC head coach.”
