Dangote Petroleum Refinery has withdrawn its N100 billion suit challenging the issuance of import licenses of petroleum products into Nigeria.
The refinery had filed a suit against granting import licenses to defendants mentioned in the lawsuit, which are the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the first and second defendants, respectively.
The other defendants are AYM Shafa Limited, A. A. Rano Limited, T. Time Petroleum Limited, 2015 Petroleum Limited, and Matrix Petroleum Services Limited.
Dangote refinery argued that the import license should be revoked, adding that it contravened sections 317 (8) and (9) of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
The legal counsel of Dangote Refinery told the court that it filed for the discontinuation of the suit after reaching an agreement with the defendants.
The presiding judge, Mohammed Umar, dismissed the suit following its withdrawal by Dangote Refinery.
