The prolonged paternity controversy involving Afro-beats music star, David Adeleke (Davido), his alleged daughter, Anuoluwapo Mitchelle (Anu), and her mother, Ayo Labinjoh, has renewed following Anu's appeal to the singer for a DNA test in an effort to confirm her identity.
However, Davido’s recent denial on his Instagram and X handles, stating that he had taken “5 DNA tests, all negative,” and asserting, “I am not your father,” prompted a public response from Anu, who alleged that the singer has further resorted to intimidation, threats, and circulating misleading claims.
According to the posts shared on Instagram, 12-year-old Anu and her Mother challenged Davido’s assertion that he had carried out five DNA tests that returned negative results, contrary to their claims that he is the Child’s father, and maintaining that only one test was conducted, which they claim appears to have been manipulated.
Anu, on her Instagram handle (@anuadeleke001), stated that Davido’s reaction to her earlier request for a DNA test left her heartbroken.
She said, “My dad, Mr. David Adeleke, replied to me earlier this evening. I was devastated by the way he cursed me out, bullied me, and threatened to lock my mother up simply because I want to establish my identity.”
She also accused the singer of inconsistency in his narrative, stating: “He also tweeted to the world, calling my mom a ‘bitch’ he never met, yet claiming he now had 5 DNA tests with me. First it was two, now it’s 5. He even said the last one was on my 10th birthday.”
She added, “According to my mom, we only went for one test which was fake as posted on her statement pinned on top of this page.” Appealing to the public to review her mother’s statement.
Anuoluwapo further said, “My mom will post the chat later. My mother has moved on and does not appreciate these false information.”
In an individual post, Ayo Labinjoh also dismissed the Singer’s remarks and choice of words, stressing that she is not his “baby mama.”
“First things first, my name is Ayo Labinjoh. I’m not Davido’s baby mama or a bitch,” she wrote.
“I am very protective of my daughter’s mental health after the level of bullying she went through for years.”
She claimed her daughter “cried for days, fainted in school, and went through psychotherapy,” and said the resurfaced dispute had impacted negatively on the child’s feelings.
Labinjoh objected to Davido’s DNA claims, stating: “Last time it was his lawyer who brainwashed Nigerians that there were 2 tests done and I chose the hospital…”
She also claimed that the lab process was tampered with and that the blood sample taken was never actually tested.
She wrote, “We wasted our time, disrupted Anu’s mental health, then they lied that we did two tests, now 5, and then he’s never met me.”
Labinjoh also added that Davido of personally bullied the child.
“David chatted my daughter tonight threatening to lock me up,” she said.
“David is a US citizen. I will request the US State Department to contact the Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean independent DNA test,” she added.
The DNA battle, which began in 2017, has once again captured widespread public interest, with both parties presenting strongly conflicting versions of the DNA tests and their previous encounters.
