Coca Cola Company through its philanthropic foundation has given a grant to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to help in the fight against the Coronavirus in Nigeria.
According to Vanguard, the President of the Coca Cola Foundation, Helen Smith Price said the initiative is aimed at intensifying awareness as well as the procurement of protective gears like face masks, hand gloves, face shields, and hand sanitizers for healthcare workers and others at the frontline of the pandemic.
"Through The Coca-Cola Foundation, we are supporting the IFRC and their efforts to distribute medical supplies to frontline workers in Africa. As a longtime partner of the IFRC, we are proud to support critical relief efforts in impacted communities," Price added. Also, Nigerian Bottling Company and Chi Limited have donated Eva table water and Hollandia Evap milk to healthcare workers and patients across the country.
The duo companies have pledged to continue with donations throughout the pandemic period, with the aim of impacting about 1.3 million people in the country.
