The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has yesterday disclosed that the agency recorded 129 fresh cases of coronavirus infection across the country.
According to the health agency, the new cases were reported from 13 states across the country, raising the toll to now 162,891 since the record of the index case in February 2020.
NCDC made the information known yesterday night through its official social media handle.
According to the report, death was also recorded relating to the deadly virus pushing the death toll to 2,057 in Nigeria since the outbreak of the disease.
The health agency revealed that about 116 other patients of the pandemic were successfully treated and discharged yesterday from various isolation centers across the country as against the 151,648 that have totally recovered from the pandemic in the country.
NCDC revealed that the 13 states who reported the cases consist of, Lagos (46), Ondo (19), Nasarawa (14), Kaduna (11), Borno (9), Bauchi (8), Akwa Ibom (5), FCT (5), Jigawa (4), Plateau (3), Bayelsa (2), Osun (2) and Rivers (1).
Since the record of the first index case, Nigeria has tested about 1.7 million persons against the virus and about 700,000 others have so far taken the vaccine jab of the AstraZeneca.
Meanwhile, Nigeria still has about 9,186 active cases of the coronavirus.
