The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) inducted 606 medical and 16 dental foreign-trained doctors into the medical profession in the country.
During the induction ceremony in Abuja on Thursday, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Pate, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ms. Daju Kachollom urged the new doctors to shun relocating abroad, but to stay in Nigeria to develop the country’s healthcare system.
The Chairman of MDCN, Prof. Afolabi Lesi also said, “And I must say this, please don’t Japa, let’s do this together and build a better image for the health sector and build our nation.
“The Federal Government is working diligently to improve conditions for health professionals. Your involvement in national health initiatives, community outreach, and public health campaigns will be vital in addressing the needs of underserved regions.”
