Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has come out to defend himself in the wake of his side’s shocking exit from the Champions League at the hands of Spanish club Sevilla on Tuesday.

The Reds Devils were shocked 2-1 at Old Trafford by the Spaniards after they previously held the visitors to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their round of 16 tie.

Ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup quarter-final clash against Brighton at Old Trafford, Mourinho insisted he is going nowhere, despite United fans reacting angrily to their last 16 exit, and mocked the club’s recent “football heritage” in defending himself.

“I say to the fans that the fans are the fans and have the right to their opinions and reactions but there is something that I used to call football heritage,” Mourinho said in his pre-match conference on Friday ahead of the Brighton game.

Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois has given the strongest indication yet that he will still be at Stanford Bridge next season, contrary to reports linking him with Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain. Speaking to Standard Sport after the club's exit from the Champions League, the shot stopper said  “I’m committed to Chelsea. I have a contract until next year and I will be here. I will do my best for it.

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has said his side will fight to the end to win the FA Cup and qualify for next season's champions' league after being knocked out of the round of 16 by Barcelona on Wednesday night. Chelsea, fifth in the Premier League and four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, face Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, and Conte says they must try and achieve both their remaining two targets.

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal will take on Russians CSKA Moscow in an eye-catching Europa League quarter-final drawn in Nyon on Friday as an all Iberian pairs Atletico Madrid against Sporting Lisbon. Atletico Madrid, twice winners, face Sporting Lisbon while Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, in the competition for the first time, take on Marseille.

Liverpool and Manchester City will face each other in the Champions League quarter-final in an all-English clash. The two Premier League clubs will go up against one another at Anfield in the first leg before the return leg at the Etihad Stadium. The three Spanish clubs have all been kept apart with Barcelona facing Roma, Real Madrid playing Juventus — a repeat of last year's final — and Sevilla going up against German giants Bayern Munich.
