Unified world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, 27, will return to the ring to face Kubrat Pulev on October 28, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff bout was confirmed on Tuesday. Joshua aims to defend his heavyweight titles after unifying the IBF, WBA Super and IBF heavyweight titles in enthralling fashion against Wladimir Klitschko, in front of a record breaking crowd at Wembly.
The unbeaten Joshua, who is 19-0, said: “October 28 can't come soon enough. Given his pedigree in the sport as it stands, most analyst believe it will be an easy night work for Joshua.
“I’ve been eager to get back in the ring since Wembley and now we’re confirmed and ready.
“I'll be locked away, focusing on fight No 20 for the next eight weeks. I’m excited to experience the atmosphere in a sold-out Principality Stadium and aim to give the fans a spectacular night.”
Pulev, 36, is the IBF’s mandatory challenger and insists he will not be Joshua’s latest fall guy. The Bulgarian has won 25 of his 26 professional contests, with Klitschko administering his only defeat.
“Anthony is a formidable opponent,” said the Bulgarian. “We will not hug and hold, we will not run - we will stand and fight.
"My preparation will be very intense, and I will be perfectly ready when I enter the ring so that he will have no chance to beat me."
