Former heavyweight world champion, Wladimir Klitschko has announced his retirement from boxing, today. The 41-year-old Ukrainian made the announcement on his website and posted a video on his Twitter account after his website server broke down.
In the video, he said, “twenty-seven years ago I started my journey, and it was the best choice of profession I could have ever made.”
But the 41-year-old has decided to call time on his stellar boxing career as he retires with a record of 64 wins, including 53 knockouts, and five defeats.
This undoubtedly ended any talk of a rematch with Anthony Joshua. The Brit defeated Klitschko at Wembley Stadium back in April and he was eyeing another colossal bout in Las Vegas on November 11.
