The Paris St-Germain has suspended its captain Lionel Messi for two weeks after traveling to Saudi Arabia without obtaining permission from the club. The 35-year-old football superstar was said to have requested a pass to enable him to travel to the country but was not permitted before he proceeded for the journey on April 30th, hence Messi being suspended for two games and fined two weeks' wages. The reported suspension comes at a delicate time as the French club had hoped to extend the Argentinian star’s contract beyond this season.

Chelsea has reportedly shown interest to lure Bayern Forward Sadio Mane to Stamford Bridge after one year of struggle in the Allianz Arena. Mane’s first season in Germany has not gone to plan and he has failed to recapture the form that he showed for Liverpool during his time in England. The Senegalese have scored just 12 goals in 35 matches across all competitions for Bayern this season.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has concluded arrangements to install Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in regional stadiums in the country as plans are underway to train and retrain referees to achieve the purpose. The President of the federation, Malam Ibrahim Gusau, stated this on Saturday in Ilorin at the National Elective Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Referees’ Association (NRA).

Barcelona FC have finally secured funding to regenerate their Camp Nou stadium and the surrounding areas. The club initially announced renovation plans in 2014, but a host of problems since have meant only a small part of the work has taken place. The project now looks set to accelerate quickly upon the completion of the season, however, with Barca confirming on Monday that 20 investors have made €1.45 billion ($1.6 billion) available.

Manchester United will face city rival, Man City in a mouthwatering, first-ever FA Cup derby final after a hard-fought penalty victory against Brighton in Wembley on Sunday. United will be looking towards completing a domestic double on June 3 after winning the League Cup earlier in the season, while Manchester City "may" be seeking a treble.
