Akwa United Football Club of Uyo has been able to secure 68 points from 36 games, a goal difference of +27 and 4 losses are just a point away from winning what will be a historic NPFL title with MFM Football Club of Lagos the only team on their way of achieving the feat. The Promise Keepers were able to seal continental football for next season and also stamping their foot on the title when they played out a 1-1 draw with FC Ifeanyi Ubah on matchday 36 in Nnewi.

Former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles coach John Obuh has been appointed as Technical Director of AS Roma Academy in Abuja, Nigeria. Academy’s Country Manager, Robinson Adakosa, who made the announcement in Ilorin on Monday stated the delight of the franchise to have Obuh who has a wealth of experience on the team.

Al Ahly of Egypt trashed Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa 3-0 on Saturday to win this year’s CAF Champions League at Casablanca, Morocco. Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira has been confirmed by Crystal Palace to succeed Roy Hodgson who left the club on 18 May 2021. The 45-year-old Frenchman has signed a three-year contract with the Eagles, who finished 14th last season.
