Arsenal beat old-time rivals Manchester United 3-2 in a thrilling contest at the Emirates as the league leaders restored their five-point advantage over Manchester City who defeated wolves in an earlier fixture after an Erling Haaland Heroics.
The North Londoners continued their title charge on Sunday as they defeated old-time rivals Manchester United.
There was an earlier dent to Arsenal's title charge when a Marcus Rashford brilliant strike gave United an early lead, before an Eddie Nketiah leveller. The Gunners then went on to take the lead through Bukayo Saka eight minutes into the second half. Six minutes later, Lisandro Martinez scored his first goal for United to level things up for United.
Nketiah last minute shot saw Arsenal take the lead over United for the second time and the last to seal up a 3-2 victory, as a result, restore their five-point lead over second-placed City, who had beaten Wolves 3-0 earlier in the day after an Erling Haaland’s fourth hat-trick in 19 Premier League appearances.
The 22-year-old scoring rate slowed marginally in recent weeks, but his header from Kevin De Bruyne’s cross-moved him level on 23 league goals that saw Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min clinch the Golden Boot last season.
Haaland has now scored 30 goals in all competitions, and it is still mid-season.
