A new FIFA ranking released on Thursday moved the Super Eagles of Nigeria by 2 spots from 40th position by the previous ranking to 38th best team in the world. Nigeria ranked fourth in Africa after Egypt, Senegal, and Cameroon.
The upward movement of the Super Eagles has continued since the appointment of German Coach, Gernot Rohr as the Technical Adviser of the team.
The Super Eagles is billed to engage the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Africa Nation Cup qualifier on June 10 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium after locking horns with the Togolese team on Thursday night.
The Super Eagles last encounter against Corsica ended 1-1, with both teams scoring from the spot.
According to the ranking, Brazil was ranked first while Argentina, Germany, Chile, Colombia, France and Belgium followed in succession.
