There has been more forced withdrawal in the Super Eagles camp as Kelechi Iheanacho and Shehu Abdullahi are struggling with injuries ahead of the international friendly game against Serbia. Iheanacho is out with a fractured hand while Abdullahi has not recovered from injury.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will on Tuesday, March 23 take on Serbia in an international friendly at The Hive Stadium in London. Ahead of the game, Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has revealed that Iheanacho and Abdullahi will miss the clash because of injuries.
According to Rohr, Iheanacho has fractured his hand while Abdullahi has not recovered from the injury he sustained in the 1-0 win over Poland on Friday, March 23. The Bursaspor star was taken off in the 78th minute of that game against Poland.
“He (Iheanacho is out) but that is an opportunity for other players to come in and prove what they can do,” Rohr said during his pre-match conference on Monday ahead of the Serbia game.
Leon Balogun is also set to miss the Serbia game because of the injury he sustained in the friendly against Poland while Daniel Akpeyi could not make it to London to join up with the Super Eagles because of visa issues.
Super Eagles captain Mikel John Obi has also confirmed that he won't be available for the friendly because of delays in his work permit in China.
