Manchester City have been hit with injury woe after Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne were taken off the pitch during Sunday encounter with Crystal Palace. Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus came off injured after 22 minutes. The Brazilian, who suffered a foot injury in February that put him out for several months of last season, was clearly upset when he walked off with a leg injury to be replaced by Sergio Aguero.
Toward the end of the encounter, Kevin De Bruyne was also taken off after he was knocked down. Manchester City were held to a goalless draw by Palace in a thrilling encounter that saw the host miss a penalty seconds to the end of game.
The result has now ended Manchester City's 18-match winning run.
Speaking after the match, Pep Guardiola said "They are a good team. We knew that. The second half was a little bit better than the first one for us and in the end Ederson helped us to keep one point."
On the decision to award Palace a late penalty he said "Maybe it was a penalty. I didn't see it really well but the referee made the decision so that's ok."
On the injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne Pep said "He [Jesus] is injured. Maybe for one month or two months he will be out. With Kevin I don't know what will happen."
Meanwhile, Roy Hodgson says he is proud of his players' performance against City.
"I'm proud of our performance. We know how difficult it is to play a team of City's quality. I thought our organisation defensively was very good. There were chances sporadically during the course of the game so it's a very pleasing point. Before the game we would have been jumping through hoops at getting a point but when you miss an injury-time penalty there's always going to be an element of sadness."
