Manchester City have made an audacious player-plus-cash offer to Arsenal FC for Alexis Sanchez, in a last ditch attempt to tempt Arsenal to sell the Chilean forward, according to the Mirror Sports UK. The report added that the clubs have been in direct contact over the move, expected to be concluded before the Thursday transfer deadline.

Though it is unlikely that Arsenal will agree to the move and they have insisted that Sanchez is not for sale even though he only has one year left on his contract. England star Sterling has started the season well, netting twice in three games.

It is believed that this move by ManCity is a last ditch attempt to test Arsenal resolve to hold onto the player whose contract expires next year. Arsenal may only be tempted by around £70m but City have not offered that in straight cash.
