Michael Carrick has been appointed as the interim manager of Manchester United Football Club to manage the club through to the end of the season, with an official club announcement expected soon.


According to a statement by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirming the appointment, he also stated that a verbal agreement had been reached the previous day and finalized all arrangements, including the composition of Carrick’s coaching staff.

Romano, in his post, said, “Michael Carrick signs in as new Manchester United caretaker manager until the end of the season. Verbal agreement since yesterday, now sorted in all details + backroom staff also. #MUFC official announcement to follow next.”

The former United midfielder and coach steps back into the Old Trafford dugout at a pivotal time, as the club aims to steady its season and mount a strong push towards the conclusion of the campaign.
