The Nigerian team held onto its 1,498.93 points from June in the World Football regulatory body's ranking table.
The drop on the global stage in July did not affect the team’s position on the continent, where Nigeria lies fifth behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Cote d ‘Ivoire.
On the global scene, three continental competitions and many international friendlies were held in June and July, with 125 matches contested worldwide.
After successfully defending their CONMEBOL Copa América title, Argentina (1st) strengthened their position at the top of the rankings. France (2nd) remains their closest rival, having reached the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2024.
Newly crowned European champions Spain (3rd, up 5) have even more to celebrate as they have moved into the top three of the ranking.
England (4th, up 1) is closely following the leaders, having surpassed Brazil (5th, down 1). Belgium (6th, down 3) now finds itself outside the top five.
