Manchester United Manager, Erik Ten Hag, has dropped Casemiro in preparation for his starting XI to clash with Southampton in Saturday’s early kick-off. Casemiro was blamed for Liverpool’s first two goals as United lost 3-0 before the international break.

Meanwhile, he has now been replaced with Christian Eriksen against the Saints.

Speaking to TNT Sports today on why Eriksen is starting, Ten Hag said: “He has had a good pre-season, in training he’s had very good performances. So, he has earned a start.”

While commenting on Manuel Ugarte being on the bench, Ten Hag said: “Manuel, we have to integrate into the team.

“He has only had two sessions, we have to integrate and that takes time.”
