Manchester City fans have revealed some plans to get revenge on Liverpool following their Champions League trouble which left their bus damaged with some of the fans sustaining various degrees of injuries.
Liverpool had defeated Manchester City at Anfield 3-0 on Wednesday night with Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane all getting on the score sheet. However, before the match, Liverpool fans had attacked the visitor's bus leaving it in a terrible state.
City fans have now taken to a forum to discuss revenge, with one fan coming out with the idea of bringing inflatables to the ground to show Liverpool you don't need to be violent to intimidate, Express reports. They also maintained that they should be able to scare them on the pitch with their talent.
“I do feel strongly that it’s time for City fans to show what has made us the loyal, committed, dedicated supporters of all that is good about football. In the aftermath of the LFC game people are understandably angry about how our team and fans were treated outside Anfield.
“The bottles, flares and fires and hostility caused injuries to police and could’ve been much worse of course. We know that approach is typical of the dark days of the 80s and while I’m sure many City fans would want to retaliate it is important we remain true to ourselves as we did in the 1980s. No major club’s fans are innocent of course but it’s important we’d do not follow what we saw at the coach arrival.
“We know that the game will be tough next week. We know we’re up against it but let’s do all we can to demonstrate that Manchester City fans remain the positive, supportive force we’ve always been.
“In the 80s when our club and football was on its knees (and we know it got worse for our club in the 90s) we demonstrated how football could be a positive, fun experience not riddled with hatred.
“We brought inflatables and was seen as an antidote to the issues and violence that Maggie Thatcher believed was at every club.
“The bananas didn’t kill the atmosphere it added to it as those of us at Bradford in 89 and home to Utd that September know. It’s possible to be noisy, passionate and supportive while also having fun.
“We don’t need to intimidate and throw bottles. We simply need to be City, Manchester City. The boys in blue who never give in.
“The eyes of the football world will be on us tomorrow and Tuesday so let’s show them how to create a winning atmosphere that’s positive. Let’s do the late 80s City approach not the 80s we saw the other night.”
Meanwhile, UEFA had since commenced investigation into the Liverpool incident.
