Minister of Information, Culture and creative Economy, Miss Hannatu Musa Musawa has denied making any official statement in relation to her National Youth Service Corp, NYSC controversy that has continued to trail her appointment. Some section of media had yesterday Sunday circulated some written statement purportedly to have emanated from the office of the minister, claiming she has not broken any law by concurrently running a ministerial office and the NYSC.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has launched a nationwide manhunt for a Lagos-based notorious drug dealer, Sowunmi Ayodeji-Kayode, who allegedly ran over an operative of the agency with his luxury car in his bid to escape detention. This was made known in a statement released on Wednesday by the NDLEA spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi, stating that the suspect’s residence located at 2/3 Adetola Ayeni Close, Lekki, Lagos State was raided by the Agency, following credible intelligence he was dealing in illicit drugs.

Gunmen abducted eight National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members on Saturday along a highway in Zamfara State. The victims were travelling from Uyo in Akwai Ibom State to Sokoto State for their one-year mandatory National service when the gunmen intercepted their bus along Zamfara highway.

The arraignment of suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, was stalled due to ill-health of one of the staff of the apex bank. Emefiele was charged on a 20-count of alleged procurement fraud and conferring of corrupt advantages on himself before an FCT High Court alongside Sa’adatu Yaro, a staff member of the CBN and her company, April 16 Investment Ltd.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has revealed that it has targeted several criminal elements in coordinated airstrikes in various theatres of operation across the country. This was made known on Sunday in a statement issued by NAF, Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet. According to him, on August 11, a NAF aircraft deployed to Operation Delta Safe conducted air interdiction missions at an illegal oil refining site located in South-West of Bille in Rivers State.
