Justice Emeka Nwite, of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday has filed treason charges against ten protesters in connection with the recent #EndBadGovernace protests. The charges include felony and treason, contrary to Section 96 and punishable under Section 97 of the Penal Code. The protesters are accused of conspiring to destabilize Nigeria, inciting mutiny, and levying war against the state.
Via the Inspector-General (I-G) of Police, the Federal Government charged the defendants on August 30 under the file number FHC/ABJ/CR/454/2024.

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Monday declared a British national, Andrew Wynne (also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey), wanted for allegedly plotting to overthrow the government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the recent EndBadGovernance protest. This development was disclosed by the Spokesperson of NPF, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stating that the wanted Briton rented an office space at Labour House, Abuja, for an ‘Iva Valley Bookshop’ and established ‘STARS of Nations Schools’ as a cover for his subversive activities.

The Federal Government (FG) has filed treason charges against 10 protesters, including a British citizen, Andrew Martin Wynne (also known as Andrew Povich), in connection with the recent nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests. The 10 defendants are Michael Tobiloba Adaramoye (also known as Lenin), Adeyemi Abiodun Abayomi (also known as Yomi), Suleiman Yakubu, Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo Simeon, Angel Love Innocent, Buhari Lawal, Mosiu Sadiq, Bashir Bello (also known as Murtala), Nuradeen Khamis, and Abdulsalam Zubairu.

A wanted ex-beauty queen, Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, has surrendered to the Lagos State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), after about eight months since she went into hiding. This was made known in a statement issued on Sunday by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, adding that the suspect was declared wanted in January following a raid at her apartment at Oral Estate, Lekki, Lagos State.
