Operatives of the Nigerian Army involved in Operation UDOKA in the southeast have recovered 14 boats and several drums of crude oil recovered from oil bunkerers at Isimini Waterside, Ukwa West local government area of Abia state. General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu, Major Gen. Hassan Dada, who personally led the operation near an oil flo station in the Ukwa West LGA, told our correspondent that troops acting on intelligence, laid siege on the bunkerers for five days before eventually catching up with them. According to Dada, six suspects were apprehended and handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) for further interrogations and prosecution.

Two members of the United States (US) Congress have visited Nigeria to see the Binance Executive, Tigran Gambaryan who has been detained at the Kuje correctional center in Abuja over case of money laundering. The US members are French Hill a Republican and Chrissy Houlahan a Democrat, who stated that Tigran is suffering from malaria and double pneumonia, revealing he has been denied access to adequate medical attention as he has lost weight. Announcing this on X Account, Hill stated, "Yesterday, @RepHoulahan and I visited with US citizen Tigran Gambaryan in Kuje Prison in Nigeria. We found him suffering from the conditions there, as he has malaria and double pneumonia, and he reports that he has lost significant weight. Even worse, he’s being denied access to adequate medical attention.

Workers union of the Police Service Commission, PSC, has called for the removal of Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun over alleged deliberate misrepresentation and falsehood in the recent recruitment. The police in an earlier statement alleged that the process was marred by corruption and other irregularities thereby reject the exercise; however it was denied by the Joint Union Congress of the PSC.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has today dismissed the fundamental rights enforcement suit earlier filed by the Africa regional manager of Binance Holdings Limited, Nadeem Anjarwalla, against the federal government. In a short ruling on today, the presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, dismissed the suit against the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for lack of diligent prosecution.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that its operatives have rescued the three abducted Fouani brothers and two others. On June 14 that three Lebanese brothers who work with a Lagos-based company known as Fouani Nigeria Limited were abducted by some gunmen in Lagos. Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani and Amtal Fouani as well as the unnamed Managing Director were said to have been abducted around 6pm on Friday around the Falomo Bridge while returning in a boat from their factory in Apapa to Victoria Island.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Rivers State Command has disrupted the activities of economic saboteurs illegally refining crude oil at cemeteries in the Abalama and Oproama communities of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Rivers State. Speaking during a four-hour operational tour along the waterway with the Marine Antivandal Squad, Command Public Relations Officer SP Olufemi Ayodele stated that the site was uncovered through credible and sustained intelligence efforts.
