The Senate has yesterday granted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s request to terminate the appointments of the Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) in charge of Abia, Adamawa and Sokoto, states. The affected RECs include; Dr. Nura Ali (Sokoto), Hudu Yunusa Ari (Adamawa State), and Prof. Ikemefuna Chijioke Uzochukwu (Abia).

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, has yesterday, affirmed the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its designation as a terrorist organisation. IPOB is a separatist group championing agitation for an independent state of Biafra which it wants carved out from the south-east and some parts of south-south Nigeria.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC has yesterday arraigned Bashir Sa’idu, former Chief of Staff, CoS, to Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, administration over alleged forex racketeering and money laundering. Sa’idu, who also doubled as Commissioner for Finance during the El-Rufai administration in Kaduna state was slammed with second charge by the anti-graft agency.
