Following the controversial payment of his children school fees with Kogi state money to An Abuja American School, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has acknowledged the receipt of refund of $760,000 from the school. The antigraft spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development today in Abuja that EFCC has received the money yesterday. Oyewale said, “The school has refunded the entire $ 760, 000 to the EFCC’s recovery account”. 

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kebbi Area Command has tendered over 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives intercepted along the Yauri/Jega road in 2022 to the Department of State Services (DSS).

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed it has frozen over 300 bank accounts suspected of been involved in illegal foreign exchange (Forex) trading, which was made known on Tuesday by the Chairman of EFCC, Ola Olukoyede during a media briefing, where he stated that the Commission secured a court order to freeze the accounts. According to him, some people in Nigeria are involved in illegal forex trading worse than what Binance Holdings Limited was accused of and added that over $15 billion was moved through one of the platforms in the last year.

Sokoto state Governor, Ahmed Aliyu has dethroned 15 District heads across the state over allegation of aiding insecurity, insubordination, Land racketeering , and conversion of public properties into personal; property by the district heads affected. This was informed by recommendation of a committee set up by the state government some months back on review of appointment of some district heads, their degree of involvement on insecurity bedevilling the state, as well as renaming of tertiary institutions in the state.

The Kenya Police Service has arrested fleeing Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, as the International Criminal Police Organisation moves to extradite him to Nigeria within the week to face charges leveled against him. Government sources, who are familiar with the case, confirmed the development on Sunday night. It was gathered that the arrest of the Binance executive was predicated upon the approval of an extradition request by INTERPOL, Nigeria, in conjunction with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Anjarwalla, who is the regional manager for Binance in Africa fled Nigeria after he escaped from lawful custody on March 22. He was detained alongside Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance Holdings Limited executive for allegedly offering their platforms for manipulation of the value of the naira, tax evasion, and money laundering.
