Cubana Chief Priest Pleads Not Guilty over Naira Abuse Arraignment
Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has arrived at the Federal High Court before Justice Kehinde Ogundare, in Lagos, on17th April 2024 for arraignment for allegedly abusing the Naira notes. Cubana Chief Priest pleaded not guilty to three charges filed against him by the EFCC at the court. His lawyer is currently arguing his bail application, urging the court to admit him to bail in liberal terms. Recall the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on 16th April filed a three-count charge against a popular nightlife business for allegedly spraying and tempering with the naira at a social event contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The Celebrity businessman was alleged to have sprayed the Naira notes at a social function on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel in Lagos.
