The Police Command in Kaduna State said its operatives, in collaboration with those of the State Security Service (SSS) and other sister agencies, have arrested a suspected vote buyer in the wee hours of Saturday scheming to buy votes at the by-elections and have recovered N25.9 million in cash. The command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Saturday in Kaduna.
There was apprehension yesterday following the incident at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Keffi, Nasarawa State, in the wee hours, as 16 inmates escaped in a violent jailbreak that left five correctional officers injured, with two of them in critical condition.
