The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has accused internet fraudsters popularly called Yahoo boys of worsening visa restrictions against innocent Nigerians abroad. Chairman of the antigraft agency, Ola Olukoyede, explained that fraudulent practices not only destroy the future of those involved in it, but also tarnish the image of the country on international stage, resulting in stricter travel conditions for law-abiding citizens.

Nigerian Army had yesterday disclosed they have arrested a notorious commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra and the Eastern Security Network, ESN, identified as Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, better known as ‘Gentle de Yahoo’. Okorienta was nabbed in his hideout at Aku-Ihube, Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State by troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade in a joint operation with sister security agencies.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, has today, sentenced one of the two terrorist Ansaru leaders recently captured by the Department of State Services (DSS), Mahmud Muhammed Usman a.k.a Abu Bara’a, to 15 years for illegal mining. Bara’a, who hails from Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, and Abubakar Abba aka Isah Adam or Mahmud Al-Nigeri, who hail from Daura, Katsina State, were arraigned by the DSS on a 32-count of terrorism and related offences.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has yesterday refused a bail application filed by five men accused of being members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group whom unleashed terror attack on St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, that claimed the lives of more than 40 worshippers and left over 100 others injured. The presiding judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, dismissed the application, insisting that the terrorism charges against the defendants were capital offences and that releasing them on bail would pose a significant security risk.
