A High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to death by hanging for the brutal murder of Salome Adaidu, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Presiding over the case, Justice Simon Aboki ruled that Ajayi was guilty of the murder and dismemberment of the 24-year-old corps member. Ajayi faced a single count of culpable homicide, which violates Section 221 of the Penal Code applicable in Northern Nigeria and carries the death penalty.

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command have arrested Rev. Pastor Prince Bassey Ajah, the General Overseer (Daddy G.O.) of “Wells of Salvation” in Abuja over alleged child trafficking. She explained that on May 24, 2025, a distress call was received by the Gwagwalada Area Command from officials of Wazobia Motor Park, Gwagwalada, reporting a male exhibiting suspicious behavior while attempting to travel with a young child.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN has revealed that contrary to some media report, the anti-graft Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC together recovered $105.9m, instead of $967.5bn looted funds in 2024 as quoted.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially handed over a 753-unit housing estate in Abuja to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. The estate was recovered from former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, after a court ordered its forfeiture in December 2024. Located in the Lokogoma District of Abuja and covering over 150,000 square metres, the estate includes duplexes and other residential units. EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, transferred the property to the housing ministry during a ceremony at its headquarters in Abuja. Olukoyede reaffirmed EFCC’s commitment to transparency, stating that recovered assets will be used for public benefit and not allowed to be looted again. He stressed that denying corrupt individuals access to stolen wealth is key to the agency’s mission.
