The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Immigration Service have repatriated 51 more foreign nationals convicted of cyber-terrorism and internet fraud. The EFCC, in a statement on Thursday, stated that 50 Chinese and one Tunisian are among the most recent wave of deportees.
Since the exercise began on Friday, August 15, 2025, a total of 102 convicted foreign nationals have been repatriated as of Thursday.
During a recent sting operation in Lagos, the Commission arrested 192 foreign nationals, including those repatriated.
The operation was conducted in response to actionable intelligence about the operations of one of the biggest foreign-led cybercrime syndicates in Nigeria.
This effort underscores our unwavering commitment to ensuring that Nigeria is not a haven for foreign criminals, according to the EFCC statement.
"These individuals were successfully convicted and repatriated, sending a clear message that we will not tolerate the use of our country's digital space for illegal activities that compromise our national security and economy."
According to the Commission, further deportations are scheduled to take place in the coming days as the exercise continues.
