Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. YemiOsinbajo in a commendable move has declared a huge cut down on registration cost for products with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). The VP announced that the 80% slash is for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and that will last for up to six months. He also mentioned that the registration has been simplified as interested parties can register via NAFDAC e-Registration platform from the comfort of their homes.  

The Nigerian Army has continued to sustain progress in the fight against insurgents in the North-East axis. Troops of the Nigerian Army attached to Sector 1, Operation Lafiya Dole, have neutralized 9 Boko Haram terrorists during an ambush staged for the insurgents along the Mainok-Jakana Road in the Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State on Wednesday, May 13, about 6 pm. This is coming as the state Government called-off the three weeks lockdown imposed to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Nigerian Police Command in Adamawa state has set up a Special Task Force on Sunday, May 10, to checkmate the excesses of the popular notorious cult group called "Shilla Boys" who operate basically in the state capital. The gang are mainly made up of young men between the ages of 15 and 25, who often disguise as commercial tricycle operators in Jimeta, Yola and environs. They use dangerous weapons on hapless victims during their operations.

The first batch of Nigerians repatriated from the United States of America numbering about 160 following the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown have arrived in Nigeria on Sunday, May 10. The Boeing 787 Ethiopian Aircraft touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja about 11.05 am on Sunday. The evacuees who were returned under a special arrangement by the Federal Government for nationals stranded abroad would undergo the compulsory 14 days quarantine in Abuja before they are allowed to reunite with their families.
