The Executive Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Professor Babagana Zulum on Wednesday escaped an ambush by gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members. An aide to the Governor who confirmed the development noted that the Governor was attacked while on transit from Baga where he had distributed food items and other palliatives to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The aide emphasised that the Governor was unhurt after the ambush.
An Airbus A330-243 owned by Middle East Airlines which had been boarding passengers since 12:00 pm was involved in a wingtip accident after running into a Boeing 777 airplane operated by Turkish Airlines at the cargo area of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA).

The House Committee on Public Accounts on various audit queries issued by the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation also summoned Director-General, National Pension Commission, Aisha Dahir-Umar; and Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Muhammad Nami, Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan; Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami; and Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris.
The Accident and Investigation Bureau (AIB) after months of investigation has finally released a report stating the cause of the helicopter crash on February 2, 2019, while conveying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to Kabba, in Kogi State, prior to the 2019 election. The final report by the bureau revealed by the Commissioner of AIB, Akin Olateru in Abuja on Tuesday, indicated that the pilot lost visual contact with the ground and external surroundings.
The British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Gill Atkintson has said that Nigeria needs to look beyond its security and Intelligence response to insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping in the Northern part of the country. Atkinston who spoke during the 1st Umaru Shinkafi Intelligence and Security Summit said, “The other thing which I believe must be part of the solution is why people are carrying out these activities, why young men believe the best choice they have is to carry out the violent activities and attacks on their fellow citizens and fellow citizens and fellow ethnic groups in the region,”
The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied allegation suggesting its staff assaulted an aviation staff at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja. The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had yesterday issued a statement on social media alleging a DSS official assaulted its staff that was on duty and breached a security protocol.
