Following the demise of the Nigerian former Speaker, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, who passed on in the wee hour of this morning wednesday, President Bola Tinubu has sympathized with the Na’Abba family, as well as the government and people of Kano State. Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement this afternoon Wednesday condoling the family of Na’Abba who served as the speaker House of Reps (1999-2003).
Tinubu expressed profound grief at the loss, recalling the contributions of the late ex-lawmaker to nation-building through legislation, advocacy and policy, describing the late Na’Abba as true democrat.
Recalling some of his achievement while serving in the green chamber, Tinubu hailed Na’Abba’s determined struggle to defend the functionality and role of the legislature in governance, describing him as a disciplined and committed politician.
He prayed for the repose of the departed’s soul and comfort to the family and also for those who mourn his passing.
