Following the aftermath of Boko Haram menace that rubbished school system in the northeast, stakeholders in the education sector from Adamawa, Bauchi and Gombe states have converged in Gombe to collaboratively tackle the issue of out-of-school children in the North East sub-region. The effort is being supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), as part of its contribution to mitigating the prevalence of out-of-school children to enhance retention, progression and completion rates in secondary education in the region.

Tahir Mamman, the minister of education, says the federal government will flush out persons in public and private organisations working with fake certificates. Mamman spoke in Abuja on Friday when he received the report of an inter-ministerial investigative committee on degree certificate milling.

The management of Lead British International School in Abuja has temporarily shut down its institute for three days to investigate issues bordering bullying among its students. This development was reached during a meeting attended by concerned parents on Tuesday, held within the school premises. An X user, @mooyeeeeeee, posted two videos where the victim she identified as Maryam Hassan was repeatedly slapped by another female student. The video generated thousands of comments by netizens who called on the school authorities to investigate the matter.
