HONOR has confirmed that it will launch the new HONOR WIN series smartphones, the HONOR WIN and WIN RT, in China on December 26. The company says the devices will debut as the industry's first smartphones equipped with a massive 10,000mAh battery, surpassing its own HONOR X70, which carries an 8,300mAh unit.
According to HONOR, the phones use a silicon-carbon battery technology branded as “Qinghai Lake.” The company claims strong endurance, stating that users can “game continuously for 5 hours, and still have more than half a battery left.”
The WIN series will also introduce advanced security and durability features. HONOR confirmed the inclusion of a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that works even with wet hands, delivering "instant unlocking in just 0.14 seconds with a single press." The devices are rated IP69, and IP69K for dust and water resistance.
Performance-wise, the smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. HONOR claims an AnTuTu benchmark score of 4,409,382. To manage heat, the phones will feature an internal cooling fan and HONOR Surround Subwoofer 2.0, using dual 1216 symmetrical speakers for immersive gaming audio.
In terms of display and imaging, the HONOR WIN series is expected to sport a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 50-megapixel main camera featuring a large sensor. HONOR is expected to reveal additional details ahead of the official launch later this week.
