Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle Maradun has approved the release of ₦100 million to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) as payment to enable students in the state to write the 2021 examinations and also clear the huge backlogs owed WAEC by past administrations.
According to a statement signed by Press Secretary Jamilu Iliyasu, the payment of the examination fee is part of Governor Bello Matawalle’s stride in encouraging Education in the state. He assures the Governments readiness to do all within its power to ensure Zamfara students come out with flying colours in the coming examination.
Meanwhile, the governor expressed appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Education and WAEC for their understanding and concern towards education in the state especially allowing candidates to sit for WAEC, releasing their results, and also allowing them to sit for subsequent examinations.
He noted that his administration will continue to meet its obligations as part of Measures to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people, especially the young generation through the provision of sound and quality education.
