The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has reaffirmed its support for Nigeria in the wake of allegations from Niger’s military government, which accused France of collaborating with terrorists in Nigeria to harbour the Lakurawa terrorist group to destabilize Niger. Abdourahamane Tchiani, Niger’s military leader claimed that France is using terrorists in Nigeria as part of a plot to undermine Niger’s stability.

Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer, MNJTF Headquarters, N’Djamena, Chad, while making this public in a statement on Thursday said the attack occurred at dawn on Dec. 18, with the terrorists launching an assault on the Darak military base from multiple directions.
