Oyo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun, has rescued two wives and two sons of Baale Alagede, who were kidnapped from their home in Ibadan, the state capital. The rescue which happened on Tuesday involved a joint team of Amotekun operatives and local hunters who launched a search operation and tracked the kidnappers to a forest in Ojutaye, along Oretu Road in Akinyele LGA.
The victims were abducted around 1 am from their home in Alagede village, near Kola Daisi University, Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.
During the search, a hunter from Oretu village, one Ojo, was killed while assisting the security team in chasing the abductors.
Olayinka Olayanju, Oyo State Amotekun Commandant, said his team and local hunters have successfully located the kidnappers’ hideout in one of the forests in Akinyele LGA.
He added that the remains of the late Ojo were to be retrieved from the forest for burial.
Olayanju also noted that as Amotekun operatives were evacuating the rescued victims to safety, the police Anti-Kidnapping Squad arrived and took custody of them.
