Before the 2027 general elections, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was selected as the Peoples Democratic Party's nominee for the Kogi Central Senatorial District. Her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mike Idoko, stated this in a press release issued on Thursday in Abuja.
According to Idoko, party members and supporters took part in the affirmation exercise that was conducted throughout the senatorial district's 57 wards.
Prior to the final results collation at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party officials, stakeholders, and supporters convened to wrap up the process, the procedure was carried out concurrently in every ward. To ensure adherence to due process and openness, the statement further stated that representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission observed the exercise alongside members of the media.
Natasha congratulated party members and supporters for what she called an extraordinary display of confidence and solidarity in her speech following the results collation.
"This affirmation is a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of Kogi Central have continued to place in our collective vision for progress, inclusion, and development," she stated.
The congressman claimed that the district-wide turnout showed the party members' dedication to boosting democratic engagement. Additionally, Natasha reassured supporters of her dedication to maintaining close ties with communities in the senatorial zone and advocating for the district's interests.
"With appreciation and fresh dedication, I take on this task. With God's grace and our people's unwavering support, we will continue to be committed to providing opportunities, fairness, and sustainable development for all," she stated.
