The nation’s capital is set to welcome stakeholders in Africa’s beauty, fashion, and creative economy as the 2025 edition of Miss Africa International takes place on December 6 at the Center Point Event Centre. Organisers say the event is positioning itself not only as a cultural showcase but also as a contributor to Nigeria’s growing pageant and creative industry value chain.
Founder and organiser of the pageant, Anita Igoni, said the 2025 edition was designed to strengthen Africa’s presence in the global creative economy by highlighting heritage-driven narratives while expanding opportunities for young women across the continent.
“Miss Africa International 2025 is not just a pageant; it is a celebration of Africa’s diversity, elegance, intelligence, and strength,” Igoni said. “Through this platform, we honour African women and showcase to the world that our continent’s beauty is as deep as its heritage.”
According to her, the event, which continues to attract contestants and audiences from across Africa, has evolved into a platform that supports education, entrepreneurship, and advocacy-driven initiatives.
“Our goal is to help young women find their voice and use it to advocate for education, entrepreneurship, and social change,” she added.
Industry analysts note that Abuja’s hosting of the event reinforces the city’s growing profile in the regional entertainment and hospitality market. With pageants increasingly becoming vehicles for brand visibility, corporate sponsorships, and tourism revenue, Miss Africa International is expected to generate business activity across fashion design, media production, event management, hospitality, and local retail.
