The wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) affiliated with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced an emergency meeting of the party's Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. According to a notice sent on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and published on his X account by the FCT minister's media aide, Lere Olayinka, both sessions will be held at the PDP National Secretariat's NEC Hall in Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The announcement stated that the BoT meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the NEC meeting at 2:00 p.m., and added that "attendance is essential as crucial matters will be discussed and addressed.
It was previously reported that several high-profile members, including Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu, were expelled from the PDP's 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, for alleged anti-party activities. Former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, moved the resolution for their expulsion, which was backed by Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Samaila Buga.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who also chairs the PDP Governors' Forum, then submitted the resolution to a voice vote, which was overwhelmingly approved by delegates, demonstrating the party's willingness to handle internal disagreement and restrict anti-party behavior among its members.
