Veteran Nigerian singer and activist, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has opened up about his decision to take suggestive nude photos 30 years ago, attributing it to his confidence in his physique at the time.

In a blunt post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, Charly Boy reminisced about his youthful days and the attention he received from women, even as a married man.

“About 30 years ago, I took some suggestive nude pictures because I knew I had a banging body,” he wrote. “The women wouldn’t let me rest even though they all knew I was married.”

He linked this experience to stories he had heard about his late father, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, during his youth.

According to Charly Boy, his father, while a student at Achimota College in Ghana, also attracted a lot of female attention due to his good looks and fit physique.

“There are times and seasons in everyone’s life, I heard stories of my beloved late father when he was single and young. He attended Achimota College in Ghana. Rumours had it that women no let the fine Bobo rest. He was always showing off his body ‘cos he was a gym rat too.”

Concluding the post and drawing a parallel between his and his father’s youthful charisma, he remarked: “Yea! You can say, na my papa born me.”

Charly Boy, known for his eccentric style and outspoken nature, continues to share personal insights and reflections that blend humor and nostalgia.
