Emmanuel Odiniya, the father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has spoken out about the widely shared brawl involving his daughter, saying he was provoked before reportedly attacking her during a family argument. According to a voice message purportedly from Odiniya that Kogi-based journalist Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme posted on Facebook on Sunday and is currently circulating online, the father claimed that his daughter's altered behavior after winning the reality TV show was the reason behind the incident, rather than hatred.
"I want to make it clear that my lack of affection for my daughter was not the cause of the tragedy. He declared, "She is one of my best kids."
He asserted that for her to win the BBNaija All Stars edition, he organized support and made sacrifices.
"I made a significant contribution to her stay in the Big Brother Naija house. I supported my daughter and ensured that she received a large number of votes. "I supported her until she won by using my connections and influence with governors and others," he said.
He claimed that after she won, their relationship soured and that the reality star started acting disrespectfully and violently toward him.
She changed after winning. Ilebaye no longer paid attention to me. I would schedule her appointments five or six times a week, but she refused to listen to me. He claimed that she no longer thought of me as her father.
Her lifestyle, especially her purported cosmetic operations, was further criticized by her father.
"I cautioned her against having BBL and filler-based facial reconstruction surgery." He remarked, "She's too young for that."
Additionally, Emmanuel said that his daughter had previously physically assaulted him.
I did nothing to cause her to hit me twice. He said, "She hit me with an AC hanger one day until blood began to flow from my body."
Speaking about the most recent altercation, he claimed that before things got out of hand, the reality TV personality attacked him.
"She insulted me, struck me first with a sea hanger, causing bleeding, shoved me, and then broke an electric lantern on my head," he claimed.
In addition, he claimed that despite his health issues, she had neglected him financially.
"I had to travel to Dubai for medical care because I am quite ill. I promised to reimburse Ilebaye when I called her to ask for financial assistance. She claimed not to have any money. However, he claimed to have seen her on camera sprinkling bundles of naira at a coworker's wedding.
The father also claimed that his daughter had meddled in his marriage, leaving a negative impact on her younger brother.
Additionally, she used narcotics to influence her younger brother, which resulted in his expulsion from school. He said, "She once suggested that I divorce her mother.
Emmanuel insisted that he still loved his daughter and desired reconciliation in spite of the charges.
"I still have a great love for my daughter. I want her to improve and change. I want Nigerians to pray for me. The issue has already been resolved by the police, he stated.
Ilebaye and her family members, including her father and younger brothers, were reportedly admitted to the hospital after the altercation at their Abuja home.
Fans and followers on social media expressed alarm as the reality TV personality posted a heartfelt livestream video pleading for assistance, which made the incident public.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command's spokesman, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the development and said that everyone involved had been hurt and was being treated.
"The man is ill and in the hospital. They are all in the hospital after suffering severe injuries, according to Adeh.
She added that while the inquiry was ongoing, the siblings were in police protective care.
