The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had yesterday announces 221 newly recorded cases of the coronavirus in the country, lowest in the last three months. The Health agency made this known yesterday through its official tweeter handle. According to the trend, the record marks the lowest figure in the health agency record in the last three months.
Recall on 4th August 2020, Nigeria reported 288 coronavirus cases and the subsequent week was 290 cases, also 252 were recorded on August 25th.
The NCDC disclosed that in the last 24hrs marks the highest number of persons that lost their lives to complications arising from coronavirus pushing the death toll to 1,010 persons. Meanwhile, the Health agency revealed that the number of persons who recovered from the global pandemic has now moved to over 40,000 persons after 317 persons were discharged from across isolation centers.
The health agency disclosed that with the latest development, the total number of recovered persons is now 40,281, which stands at 76% of the total confirmed cases of 53,021 in Nigeria.
NCDC revealed that the new cases of 221 yesterday were reported from 20 states, with Plateau state having the highest number with 60 persons.
The state reported are; FCT, 33, Kaduna, 26, Rivers, 18, Lagos, 17, Enugu, 9 , Kwara, 9, Ondo, 9, Nasarawa, 6, Gombe, 5, Anambra, 5, Delta, 4, Abia, 4, Imo, 3, Edo, 2, Ogun, 2, Oyo, 2, Osun, 2, Bauchi, 1, and Kano, 1.
In the meantime, the health agency urged especially pregnant mothers to never relent in following the protocols of the agency to remain to save, as they are likely to come in contact with asymptomatic patience in one way or the other.
NCDC said that maintaining physical distance is possible, urging all and sundry to take responsibility.
