The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has yesterday reported another 553 newly recorded cases of coronavirus following an expanded testing capacity that have been put in place by the federal government.
The newly recorded cases were reported from 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
According to the agency, the breakdown of the new cases was presented as follows; Lagos state-378, FCT-52, Delta-23, Rivers state-14, Ogun state-13, Kaduna state-12 and Kano state-9.
Other states mentioned were; Borno state-7, Kastina-6, Jigawa state-5, Oyo state-5, Yobe state-3, Plateau state-3 while Osun state had 1 case.
Dated back to the index case that was identified since February, Nigeria now has confirmed cases of coronavirus toll as at yesterday to be 9,855.
2,856 cases have been treated and discharged while 273 victims could not make it.
